Approved for Federal Financial Student Aid 

Zorganics Institute is proudly accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences (NACCAS), an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. This crucial accreditation means that eligible students enrolled at Zorganics Institute can apply for Federal Student Aid (Title IV funding) to help finance their education.

Federal aid options may include:

  • Pell Grants: Need-based grants that do not have to be repaid.

  • Federal Direct Loans: Including Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans.

  • Federal PLUS Loans: For parents of dependent students or graduate students.

Navigating your financial aid journey is easier with a clear path. Here’s how to begin exploring your eligibility for federal and state assistance:

Step 1: Obtain Your FSA ID (Federal Student Aid ID) Your FSA ID is your unique username and password that serves as your electronic signature for federal student aid.

 

Applying for financial aid can seem complex, but we're here to simplify it for you! Follow these steps to explore your eligibility:

  1. Complete the FAFSA or WASFA:

    • WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid): If you are ineligible for federal financial aid due to immigration status, you may still be eligible for state aid. Complete the WASFA online at wsac.wa.gov/wasfa.

    • Tip: Complete your FAFSA/WASFA as soon as possible after October 1st each year!

  •            2.   Review Your Student Aid Report (SAR):

    • After you submit your FAFSA, you'll receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). Review it carefully for accuracy.

  •            3.   Connect with Zorganics Institute's Financial Aid Team:

    • Once we receive your FAFSA/WASFA results, our Financial Aid Officer will reach out to you. You can also proactively schedule an appointment to discuss your aid package and options.

    • We'll help you understand your eligibility and the next steps for applying your aid to your chosen program.

  • Program Objectives - Barber program
    To prepare students to an entry level position in the salon field performing all services normally offered in the Barber profession. Upon completion of the course requirements, the determined graduate will be able to: Project a positive attitude and a sense of personal integrity and self-confidence. Practice proper grooming, poise, and effective communication skills. Understand employer/employee relationships and respect the need to deliver worthy service for value received. Perform the basic analytical and manipulative skills applicable to the program of study. Apply the theory, technical information and related matter to assure sound judgments, decisions, and procedures.​
  • Description
    Lectures, demonstrations, and lab work. Training will include a combination of live models and mannequins. The BARBER course consists of various topics and subjects related to the theoretical and practical (hands on) aspects of the care and beautification of the hair. Topics and/or subjects are designed to assist the future professional with a basic understanding of a wide variety of knowledge areas in the field. Because trends and tools within the field are constantly changing, ZORGANICS Institute updates the course content and the teaching methods to address those trends. 1000 hours are dedicated to the theory of the practice of barbering services, business practices and basic human anatomy and physiology Core Curriculum Students will acquire knowledge and practical skills in the following subjects: Theory of the practice of barbering including business practices and basic human anatomy and physiology. Shampooing including draping, brushing, scalp manipulations, conditioning and rinsing. Scalp and hair analysis. Hair cutting and trimming including scissors, razor, thinning shears and clippers. Hair styling including wet, dry and thermal styling, and styling aids. Cutting and trimming of hair, including shaving, beard and mustache design and eyebrow, ear and nose hair trimming. Cleaning and disinfecting of individual workstations, individual equipment and tools and proper use and storage of linens. Diseases and disorders of the skin, scalp and hair. Safety including proper use of implements and electrical tools First aid as it relates to barbering Not all training may be on mannequins.
  • Program Length
    1000 hours Intended time to complete the Barber program attending full time is 8.5 months. As outlined by Washington State Law, RCW 18:16, a minimum of 1000 hours are required for licensure. These are divided as follows: 1000 hours are dedicated to Theory of the practice of barbering services, business practices and basic human anatomy and physiology.
  • On-Time Completion Rate
    This program was offered in 2022, 100% of Barber graduates completed their program according to the time frame in the contract between [2022] and [2023] as compared to the total number of graduates who completed their program in the same time frame.
  • Core Curriculum
    Students will acquire knowledge and practical skills in the following subjects: Theory of the practice of barbering including business practices and basic human anatomy and physiology. Shampooing including draping, brushing, scalp manipulations, conditioning and rinsing. Scalp and hair analysis. Hair cutting and trimming including scissors, razor, thinning shears and clippers. Hair styling including wet, dry and thermal styling, and styling aids. Cutting and trimming of facial hair including shaving, beard and mustache design and eyebrow, ear and nose hair trimming. Cleaning and disinfecting of individual work stations, individual equipment and tools and proper use and storage of linens. Diseases and disorders of the skin, scalp and hair. Safety including proper use of implements and electrical appliances. First aid as it relates to barbering. Not all training may be on mannequins. Phase 1- Earth (0-250 Hours) New student Orientation Introductory theory & basic practical skills Safety and sanitation Intro to clinic floor and client consultation ​ Phase 2- Water (251-500 Hours) Continue progression through Milady Standard textbook to expand knowledge Build upon foundational practical skills Begin practice on live clients, and build confidence ​ Phase 3- Fire (501-750 Hours) Hands-on theory classes Review all subjects learned. and expand knowledge from part 1 and part 2 Learn and practice more advanced techniques Focus on completing practical requirements ​ Phase 4- Air (751-1000 Hours) Review Washington State rules and regulations, as well as business practices Employment preparation (resume, portfolio) Employer interview techniques Continue to review and study, fully complete practical requirements, prepare for WA State exams, take final written and practical examinations. Complete exit interview, graduation, and sign up for WA State Exams.
